Yong Shin custom forged Tuna swords have been featured along side with his Taiwan Tuna Knives on YouTube as the “world’s sharpest Taiwan tuna knife”. With a blade that is 680mm long by 45mm high by 5mm thick (or 27″ long by 1.75″ high by 0.25″ thick), it can section large fish better than shorter, more curved blades. The double bevel blades are custom made to order using bombshell steel, feature an oval 240mm, or 9.5″ cedarwood handle, and a custom made pine Saya. Production time is generally 8 weeks.

Every custom forged blade from Yong Shin shows his maker’s mark, which is the 5 points arranged in a cross pattern. The additional points on either end of the mark indicate which steel type is used.
