The Grits range from 15 Micron down to 0.10 Micron. The 20ml (1 oz.) bottles are designed to be used on your leather, kangaroo, and nanocloth strops for some serious action.
Like a Liquid Sharpening Stone
Because many people sharpen with strops, maintain their knives with a strop between sharpening, and/or use a minimal amount of stones before stropping, we wanted something that would allow some more serious abrading action than the usual finish and maintenance stropping emulsion. So we formulated the Max Concentrations to act as a liquid sharpening stone that is used in a stropping format. We also added coarser 15 micron, 12 micron, and 8 micron grits to the range because most work sharp and maintenance sharpening really leaves edges operating around the 1K (15 micron) to 2K (8 micron) range.
Best Used with Jende Nanocloth, Rough Cow, Cow, and Kangaroo Strops
We recommend our Jende Rough Leather knife strops for the 15, 12, and 8 micron max emulsion, the Jende Cow Leather for the 4, 2, and 1 micron max emulsion, and the Jende Kangaroo strops for the 0.5, 0.25 and 0.10 micron max emulsions.
